Description

CHANGE IN SPEAKER! The G-RISE Graduate Meyerhoff program would like to extend an invitation to the graduate school community to our Career Talk this month.  Dr. Phong Le has a doctorate in mathematics from UC Irvine, spent time as a faculty member, and now works at a non-profit putting his math, data analysis, and research skills to use for public good. We hope you can join us in UC 115 on 10/16/25 to hear about his journey!

Dr. Phong Le is a Data and Research Analyst at Vote Forward. He helps manage volunteer-driven get-out-the-vote campaigns and analyze voter turnout experiments. He enjoys the combination of technical, political and human challenges of this work. Earlier this year, the results of our 2024 scientific work were featured in the Atlantic Magazine as part of a series on the state of the Democratic Party. This year his group also won the Analyst Institutes Inaugural Hal Malchow Award for the transparency and rigor of our work. Prior to joining Vote Forward Phong was an Associate Professor of Data, Mathematics, and Computer Science at Goucher College. He lives in Baltimore city.
