SEA CIRTL Fellows

Welcome to the SEA CIRTL Fellows Program, a fantastic opportunity for COEIT graduate students at UMBC to showcase their teaching skills and inspire young minds through a one-week summer camp class offered by the Summer Enrichment Academy (SEA). Our program’s mission is to ignite a passion for STEM in middle and high school students while providing graduate students with valuable teaching experience and mentorship.

Our program for the Summer 2023 session is currently closed for applications. However, we encourage you to keep an eye out for future opportunities to participate. If you’re interested in pursuing this program, keep reading to learn more about what it entails and the benefits of becoming a SEA CIRTL Fellow.

As a SEA CIRTL Fellow, you’ll work with experienced faculty to design and implement a one-week course on an Engineering and Technology topic of your choice. Our program provides guided mentorship and support to ensure that your course is accessible and engaging for high school and middle school students. You’ll also attend training sessions to help you plan and deliver your course.

During the Summer 2023 session, you’ll have the opportunity to teach your course and earn a minimum of $700/week for one or two weeks, depending on the course’s enrollment. Additionally, your work as a SEA CIRTL Fellow counts towards a national CIRTL teaching certificate, a valuable addition to your resume that can lead to new career opportunities.
