We are pleased to announce that Dr. Dana Marie Kai Thomas will give a G-RISE career talk on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.  The G-RISE career talk will be held in the Learning Collaboratory, UC 115.  Dr. Thomas holds multiple advanced degrees, including a PhD and MPH, and she brings a rich interdisciplinary background in public health, behavioral science, and leadership. LinkedIn

Dr. Thomas is a researcher in the Strategic Energy Security Group within NREL's (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) Resilient Infrastructure and Security Center. Her work explores energy systems, particularly the intersections among energy resilience, food systems, the built environment, and population health, as well as biosecurity risks and cybersecurity threats linked to food-energy infrastructure interdependencies. She focuses on agrivoltaics, food and energy security, and the resilience and security of the U.S. food and agriculture sector. 

Her professional credentials include certification as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and specialization in project and change management (MSCMP, MTHM). Dr. Thomas is a respected researcher and biobehavioral scientist whose work bridges theory and practice in health, equity, and innovation.
