By signing up you can attend first Introductory workshop with Scott Morgan who will be guiding you on how to present your 3MT or Gritty Talk on the 13th November 2019.

3MT - Explain your thesis in just 3 Minutes. The winner will be given the opportunity to participate in a National 3 Minute Thesis Competition. For presentation a single static PowerPoint slide is permitted (no slide transitions, animations or 'movement' of any description).

What is 3MT?

3MT competition cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills. Presenting in a 3MT competition increases their capacity to effectively explain their research, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

Gritty Talks - This is a short TED-like talk for Graduate Students. The students will be given 5 to 7 minutes to talk about any open ended ideas. Topics can range from something that is new and surprising or just an idea or invention that the audience has never heard about.
